Age Groups for Fall 2010 Micro Soccer

The team age group classification is based on the age of the oldest player. The age group is determined by the player's age on Aug 1, 2010.

the "U" stands for "under" so there are no 6 year olds in the U6 (as of Aug 1, 2009) but players can turn 6 during the playing year and remain in this age group

2010, Summer Camp

SF Viking Summer Camp has been around for years, yet for many of our soccer players it is their first camp experience.

Our staff consists of nationally licensed coaches, former professional, and college players, who were selected for their ability to teach and their passion for the game.

Our coaches ensure that players of every age and ability level will have fun learning the game of soccer. The low player to coach ratio enables the coaches to provide continuous attention and individual skills training.

The camp also provides a variety of group exercises, small-sided games, and full field matches.

In addition to this first class training every player will receive an official camp shirt, soccer ball, and bag. At the end of the week every player will also get a personal evaluation from the coaching staff.

We specialize in coaching soccer to 5-12 year olds.

For more information and to register please visit www.sfvikingssoccer.org.

Volunteer to Coach & Your Kid Plays for Free
Viking will offer a scholarship to the child of the volunteer coach. The scholarship can be split between two kids if two parents are sharing coaching responsibilities. It is not hard to be a coach. We will give you 4 balls, 10 flat cones, 4 tall cones and a bag. You run a play group and teach the concept of a boundary and to kick the ball in a direction. The game almost teaches itself, so you don't need any playing experience just a good attitude for managing kids.
Field Rules and Regulations

Please do not bring your dog to the field and ask a young child to stand off the edge of the field to "watch the dog" while the parent watches the game.

It is distressing to our field marshalls to have to watch a young child with a dog standing off alone. Please, keep your dog at home for the soccer game. This has caused situations where the field marshalls did not want to send the kids away, but the parent was then sending the kids away to comply with the "no dog" rule. Our Rec & Park permit states "NO DOGS" so please do not bring a dog to the playing field vicinity.

Sincerely,
Libby

Field Orientation at Marina Green

The field numbering will be as follows:

Fields 1&2 for the U6 age group are at the far EAST end of the Marina Green area. These fields have a smaller goal and no goal box because these games are 3v3.

The fields are numbered EAST to WEST, so the next set of fields are 2&3, then 4&5, moving towards the Golden Gate Bridge, with fields 11&12 at the far west end of the Marina Green, near the flagpole.
